Anshia B. Crooms, M.A.

CEO / FOUNDER / CHIEF BOOKING AGENT

Just as generous as she is ambitious, Anshia “Briclyn” Crooms, M.A., runs the point position as the Co-Founder of her Non-Profit Organization, Project Hygiene, Inc and as CEO of her multi-faceted business, Briclyn Entertainment Group, LLC which is a Boutique Booking and Events Agency specializing in Talent Booking, Talent Buying and Event Programming. Briclyn’s roster includes: GRAMMY Nominated Artist Eric Roberson, Singer-Songwriter / Emcee Maimouna Youssef aka Mumu Fresh Adam Blackstone, The Amours, Rudy Currence, Coline Creuzot and Les Twins.

After obtaining her B.S. in Communication Broadcast Journalism from Bowie State University, Anshia moved to New York City to pursue her Master’s degree. By the age of 23 she not only obtained her Master’s from The New School, she also launched Briclyn Entertainment in 2007. Utilizing all the skills and knowledge she obtained from impressive internships with Hidden Beach Recordings, Island Def Jam, and TV One to name a few, Crooms drive to make her mark was insatiable; and some of her hard work paid off when she was recognized in 2011 as a nominee for Billboard Women in Music.

Turning her dreams into reality, the last 16 years have generated work in major arenas for the Pocomoke, MD native. In 2015, Anshia produced The Language of Love Music Festival sponsored by Toyota during the CIAA Tournament which was a two day festival and also secured contracts for the Bowie State University Homecoming season and again in 2016.  Language of Love will return in 2024. Since Briclyn’s inception Anshia has booked clients at legendary music venues and festivals domestically and internationally. Such venues and festivals have been Black Girls Rock, AFROPUNK, The National Museum of African American Music, The Jazz Café in London, UK, The Howard Theatre, The Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, The Roots Festival and the Essence Music Festival.  From 2016 to 2020, Anshia was the sole Producer and Talent Buyer for the East Orange New Jersey Music Arts Festival (MACFest). In 2018, Anshia along with her business partner Tiffany Taylor created “Crush Your Craft” a workshop series that features creative individuals and entrepreneurs within the Entertainment Industry, such as Film, Music and Marketing.

Though the contracts and bookings are the fruit of her focus and hard work, her efforts with Project Hygiene, Inc go hand in hand. Alongside her twin sister Anshay Tull, the sisters created Project Hygiene which is a 501(c) 3 Non-Profit organization established to support underprivileged youth ages 10-18 by encouraging enhanced health and wellness practices while denouncing bullying by donating toiletries and hosting engaging programs. Project Hygiene was also recognized by Maryland’s General Assembly with an official citation acknowledging the non-profit’s work.

With a tight knit team and a whole lot of drive, Anshia Crooms has achieved noteworthy successes in a short amount of time. Anshia’s mantra is “Just do it,” as Nike says, which Crooms has clearly taken to heart; and she is doing it every day by executing on a high level while maintaining a charm and professionalism that makes her an easy choice for clients.

When she is not booking clients or producing events you can find her volunteering her time with the DC GRAMMY Chapter of the Recording Academy where she serves as the 2022-2024 Board Governor, and Co-Chairs the Music  Business Committee. Anshia also serves as a Board Member to Creative Nomads LTD and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc.

As her roster and philanthropic efforts continue to grow, Crooms remains just as excited about her work now as she was in the beginning as a bright-eyed college graduate working six seasons of Central Park SummerStage and falling in love with the live production process.  Looking forward, there are great things on the horizon for the team including aiding in the professional development of independent artists and giving them a platform to expose their talent to industry executives, promoters  and talent buyers.

Anshia’s work with Briclyn Entertainment and Project Hygiene produces results, cultivates great talent and infuses helping others along the way.
