Anshia “Briclyn” Crooms, M.A., is just as generous as she is ambitious—an industry trailblazer who leads with purpose at the intersection of entertainment and philanthropy. She runs point as the Co-Founder of Project Hygiene, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and as CEO of her multifaceted company, Briclyn Entertainment Group, LLC—a boutique booking and events agency specializing in talent booking, talent buying, and event programming.

 

Under her leadership, Briclyn Entertainment represents an esteemed roster that includes GRAMMY Award-winning Adam Blackstone, GRAMMY-nominated artist Eric Roberson, Stellar Award-winning producer Dana Sorey, singer-songwriter and emcee Maimouna Youssef (a.k.a. Mumu Fresh), American Idol Season 23 contestant Gabby Samone, The Amours, and Disney artist India Shawn.

 

A proud alumna of Bowie State University, Anshia earned her B.S. in Communication (Broadcast Journalism) before moving to New York City to pursue her M.A. at The New School. By the age of 23, she had completed her graduate degree and launched Briclyn Entertainment in 2007. In recognition of her professional achievements and service, Anshia B. Crooms, M.A., was named Bowie State University’s 2025 Distinguished Alumnae on December 19, 2025. Her early career was shaped by impactful internships with Hidden Beach Recordings, Island Def Jam, and TV One—experiences that fueled the determination that later earned her a nomination for Billboard’s Women in Music in 2011.

 

For more than 18 years, the Pocomoke, Maryland native has transformed vision into reality, producing and programming major events across the globe. In 2015, she produced The Language of Love Music Festival, sponsored by Toyota during the CIAA Tournament—a two-day festival that later extended into booking contracts for Bowie State University’s Homecoming in 2015 and 2016. The festival is slated for a future return.

 

Since its inception, Briclyn Entertainment has booked talent at iconic venues and festivals worldwide, including:

  • The National Museum of African American History & Culture

  • Newport Jazz Festival

  • The National Museum of African American Music

  • Jazz Café (London, UK)

  • Lincoln Center

  • Carnegie Hall

  • The Kennedy Center

From 2016 to 2024, Anshia served as the sole Producer and Talent Buyer for the East Orange, NJ Music, Arts & Cultural Festival (MAC Fest). In 2018, alongside Briclyn’s Chief of Staff, Tiffany “Sweetlocs” Taylor, she created Crush Your Craft, a workshop series that spotlights creatives and entrepreneurs across film, music, and business.

A Passion for Philanthropy & Community Impact

While her professional achievements are noteworthy, her passion for service is equally profound. Alongside her twin sister, Anshay Tull, she co-founded Project Hygiene, Inc., which supports underserved youth (ages 10–18) by promoting healthy hygiene practices, combating bullying, and providing essential toiletries. To date, the organization has donated more than 100,000 toiletries and established 13 school-based toiletry closets. Project Hygiene’s work has been recognized by the Maryland General Assembly for its positive community impact.

Anshia also gives back to her alma mater, Bowie State University, through the establishment of the Briclyn Entertainment Endowed Fund, which supports students majoring in Fine & Performing Arts, Business Administration, and Communications.

 

Leadership, Legacy & Looking Forward

Anchored by a tight-knit team and driven by an unshakeable “Just do it” mantra, Anshia has built a reputation for executing with excellence, professionalism, and heart. Her work in the entertainment industry began with six seasons at Central Park SummerStage—an experience that ignited her love for live production and continues to shape her approach today.

​

Beyond her entrepreneurial and philanthropic work, Anshia is deeply involved in industry leadership and community service:

  • Board Governor, Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Recording Academy (2022–2027)

  • Co-Chair, Membership Engagement

  • Board Member, Creative Nomads LTD

As her roster and philanthropic footprint continue to grow, Anshia remains energized by the opportunity to elevate independent artists, expand professional development pathways, and create platforms that connect talent with industry executives, promoters, and buyers. Through Briclyn Entertainment Group and Project Hygiene, she continues to produce results, cultivate creativity, and uplift communities—cementing her legacy as a visionary leader committed to impact, excellence, and service.
